THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

“We are doing monkey work.”

To create and translate the claims on a pack, Nestlé teams copy-pasted between SharePoint, a claims tool that crashed and LSS files, then translated everything by hand for every market.

MY ROLE

MY ROLE

The only designer between business and code.

I was the only UX/UI designer on the team: I turned 150+ hours of workshops with business and experts into the flows and screens that 7 developers built, and led the UI revamp of the platform within ServiceNow's limits.

KEY DECISIONS

KEY DECISIONS

01

Map the pain before the screens.

User journey maps scored every step of the current process. Entering claims one by one and translating in LSS came out as the worst moments, so the design started there.

02

Cut steps, not just screens.

Claims, substantiation, approval and translation moved into one workflow, with no copy-paste between tools: from 42 steps to 17.

03

Trust the AI, but show its confidence.

Translations come with a confidence level, so local markets validate instead of translating. Users had warned us against too much automation.

Design for 14 roles at once.

Marketing, product, nutrition, legal and regulatory each see and edit only what they own, at the right moment of the flow.

Clear targets with the business. 75% less manual work and 50% faster lead times set as the goals for the platform.

→

Recognised by ServiceNow. Their principal platform architect was “impressed by what the team delivered in just six months.”
