THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

One platform, five roles, two portals.

Lamborghini needed one modern B2B platform to replace a dated SAP front-end. Five user roles, complex after-sales journeys and two portals: a Salesforce storefront with strict components, and a new one to design almost from scratch.

MY ROLE

MY ROLE

Design Lead, from pitch to production.

I was responsible for the UX from pitch to production: I led a small UI/UX design team and was the main design contact for Lamborghini’s stakeholders, working with a 10-person team in Italy and around 20 developers in India.

KEY DECISIONS

KEY DECISIONS

01

Start from the journeys, not the screens.

In the pre-assessment we redesigned every key flow and mapped 160+ requirements before designing any interface. That vision won the pitch.

02

Stay standard where possible, go custom where it matters.

Together with business and developers, we defined which journeys could rely on Salesforce standard components and which needed a custom experience.

03

Bring the business into every design decision.

Functional workshops on 100 process topics, 130+ UX/UI questions solved together, and the design presented at every sprint review, including the team in Japan.

04

Delegate, then coach.

We divided the work between UI and UX by each designer’s strengths, with daily stand-ups and shared reviews.

THE IMPACT

THE IMPACT

→

Clear decisions before development. Flows, requirements and a prototype defined upfront gave the team a clear scope and better estimates.

→

Standard where possible, custom where it mattered. About 70% of the platform runs on Salesforce standard components, so design effort went into the complex after-sales journeys.

→

A scalable model for what comes next. A modular structure and one design system for both portals, ready for new features.

→

30+ stakeholders, one shared vision. Service maps, 50+ prototyped pages and 6 international reviews kept business, IT and markets aligned.
